Best Christian School …we are in love, and here's why…My daughter is smart but has some math learning issues, so public school's implementation of common core was absolutely horrible for her. She went an entire school year learning nothing at all in math bc she couldn't understand it, and cried over homework every day. The 30-student class size really made it difficult to concentrate on her work in class, so she would have unfinished projects…she admitted to feeling 'stupid.' Her teacher kept pushing for us to put her on dangerous ADD medication (I'm a nurse, I've done my research and have seen some scary things first hand as well), which we refused to be bullied into. After having her tested by a Child Educational Psychologist independently, we brought his diagnoses to this public school's admin. They told us they could NOT give her regular math – either she did common core with the rest of the other kids, or she needed to be put into a special ed class. We showed that her IQ was perfectly normal, but they did not care. They interrupted my every other sentence, and dismissed the professional's many great and clear test results. In the end, that public school was doing her a HUGE disservice. So we pulled her out and homeschooled her privately for a year. She liked the homeschool better, but became lonely and a bit lazy, and didn't do well with me playing the main role of 'teacher.' The next year, after praying about what to do, we somehow came across Grace in Wildomar. OMIGOSH! I have never seen her so happy and learning SO MUCH. Her notes are amazing, her writing is neater, she's learning cursive (which they don't teach you in public school anymore), they take them to the park and play sports for PE, and they have zero tolerance for bullying. They handle everything with prayer and reasonable thought and care. The curriculum she is learning is even more advanced than the public school curriculum for her age, and she gets so much more out of it now that she can peacefully concentrate in class, and her intelligence that was clouded in her public school days, is now shining brightly. She has slowly gone from thinking she wasn't as smart as the other kids, to understanding much more advanced concepts, getting better grades, and feeling confident in who she is and what she can do. Her new teacher is so amazing with the children. Also, Ms. Brenda genuinely cares about all of the children there. I cannot believe how AFFORDABLE this school is, for the 6 to 1 student to teacher ratio, long school day for working parents (8-4), and my daughter's and my favorite part: NO HOMEWORK! She's already been on a field trip to the Wild Animal Park, they did a family field trip to the Grand Canyon in November, she takes ukulele lessons every week in school, they all take choir, and she's in a big Christmas play this weekend. The curriculum they use is faith-based and really seems to work for my daughter as well. She's learning math concepts really well, that I couldn't get her to learn with me at home. I only wish the school was bigger already, so my high schooler could go there. Right now they teach through 8th grade, and most of the children are elementary age. Maybe one day soon!
